A successful DRM SIMULCAST test on 1060 kHz was carried out by TRANSRADIO together with university partners from the 18 February 2006 to the 29 March 2006 in Mexico- City (Radio Educacion).
The aims of the tests were the determination of the necessary DRM power to provide DRM to the region of Mexico City and to analyse the side-effects of the DRM- to the AM - signal of the simulcast transmission.
Mr. Hoerlle, Senior Engineer of TRANSRADIO, stated: "We are very excited about the good results of the DRM Simulcast transmission. There is no audible difference in quality between transmitting a native AM transmission and an AM signal of a simulcast transmission. Transmitting the AM- and the DRM-service on the same antenna is a major advantage for the broadcaster.”
